We have been advised on the 30th August, 2000 by Halifax Group plc, on behalf of
Halifax Group plc and its subsidiaries, that they have a notifiable interest in
the share capital of the company. Their beneficial interest in the share
capital of Caffyns plc is 165,000 ordinary shares, which is 4.96% of the
ordinary shares.
