Caffyns plc ('the Company')

The Company announces that a Contract for the sale of a freehold property in
Ashford, Kent, has today become unconditional.

The property was formerly occupied by Vauxhall and Skoda dealerships prior to
their move to new premises in Orbital Way, Ashford in 2001.

The cash consideration of £990,000 is payable today by the purchaser and will be
applied in reducing the Company's borrowings. An exceptional loss of £391,000
has arisen on the disposal and full provision for this loss will be made in the
accounts for the year ended 31 March 2003.
