LETTER DATED:   13 APRIL 2000

Mr Mark Harrison F.C.A. has been appointed a Director of Caffyns plc from 17th
April 2000.  He will be an executive Director and will succeed Mr Robert Caffyn
as Finance Director on 1st June 2000 when Mr Robert Caffyn will retire but
continue as a non-executive Director.

The Final dividend on our ordinary shares will be decided at a Board Meeting to
be held on Wednesday 31st May 2000.
