  C&C confirms announcement dates for pre-closed period trading statement and
                         fiscal 2005 first half results

Dublin, London, August 4, 2004: C&C Group plc ('C&C' or the 'Group'), the
leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of branded beverages and snacks
in Ireland, today announced dates when it will issue a pre-closed period trading
statement and its fiscal 2005 first half results.

C&C will issue a pre-closed period trading statement on August 26, 2004 at
7.00am (local Irish time) to provide investors with an update on current
business conditions. The C&C management team will host a conference call for
investors, to discuss current business conditions, on August 26 at 2.00pm (local
Irish time).

C&C will announce fiscal 2005 first half results on October 11, 2004 at 7.00am
(local Irish time). The C&C management team will discuss first half financial
