BURBERRY GROUP PLC: Transaction in Own Shares



Burberry Group plc ('the Company') announces that it has today purchased 83,814
of its ordinary shares of 0.05p each ('Shares') for cancellation.  Of these
Shares, 29,303 were purchased on-market from Morgan Stanley at a price of
428.6978 pence per Share and 54,511 were purchased off-market directly from GUS
Holdings Limited also at a price of 428.6978 pence per share in accordance with
the Agreement dated 14 July 2005 between the Company and GUS plc approved by the
Company's shareholders on 14 July 2005.
