I am writing to notify you that a meeting of the Board of Directors of Bunzl Plc
will be held on Tuesday, 29 August for the purpose of:

1. declaring an interim dividend for the year ending 31 December 2000 and

2. approving for publication the announcement of results in respect of the 
   six months ended 30 June 2000.
