Transaction in Own Shares

Wednesday 23 February 2004 at 17.09 under RNS Number 9651I.

The issued share capital of the Company following cancellation will fall to
52,311,416 not 52,336,416  as previously advised.

The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 23 February 2005 it purchased
25,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.05% of the issued class of capital),
at 295p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the purchased 25,000  Ordinary Shares is due on
28 February 2005 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
52,311,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
