The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 19th August 2003 it
re-purchased 30,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.05% of the issued class
of capital), at 260.5p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 30,000 Ordinary Shares is due on
22nd August 2003 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
55,855,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
