The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 30th July 2003 it
re-purchased 500,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.88% of the issued
class of capital), at 253p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 500,000 Ordinary Shares is due
on 5th August 2003 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
56,110,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
