The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 2nd October 2002 it
re-purchased 10,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0. 02% of the issued
class of capital), at 242p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 10,000 Ordinary Shares is due on
7th October 2002 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
57,497,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
