Notification of major interests in shares

N Brown Group plc ('the Company')

The Company was advised on 12 January 2005 that FMR Corp. and its direct and 
indirect subsidiaries and Fidelity International Limited (FIL) and its direct 
and indirect subsidiaries, both being non-beneficial holders had reduced the 
number of ordinary shares held by them in the Company to 37,964,128 ordinary 
shares of 10p each. This shareholding represents 12.85% of the current issued 
share capital of the Company.
