Notification of major interests in shares

N Brown Group plc ('the Company')

The Company was advised on 16 August 2006 that Fidelity International Limited
(FIL) and its direct and indirect subsidiaries, both being non-beneficial
holders had reduced the number of ordinary shares held by them in the Company to
13,595,293 ordinary shares of 10p each. This shareholding now represents 4.60%
of the current issued share capital of the Company.
