Bellsouth Corp 23 June 2003 BellSouth increases dividend 9.5 percent Dividend raised 21 percent over last 5 quarters For Immediate Release: June 23, 2003 Atlanta - The board of directors of BellSouth Corporation (NYSE: BLS) today approved a dividend of 23 cents per common share, a 9.5 percent increase from 21 cents per common share. Over the last five quarters, BellSouth has increased its quarterly dividend 21 percent from 19 cents per common share to 23 cents per common share. The second-quarter dividend is payable August 1, 2003 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on July 10, 2003. BellSouth has nearly 1.9 billion shares outstanding in approximately 800,000 registered shareholder accounts. This is the 78th consecutive quarterly dividend declared by BellSouth.
