BRITISH SMALLER COMPANIES VCT PLC ('the Company')
Unaudited Interim results for the six months to 30 September 2004

Further to the publication earlier of the Company's Interim Financial Results,
the Directors are pleased to announce that the Company will pay an interim
dividend of 1.5 pence per share. The dividend will be paid on 30 November 2004
to Shareholders on the register on 12 November 2004.
