ALLOTMENT OF C SHARES

The Directors of British Smaller Companies VCT plc today announce the allotment
of 12,200 C Shares of 50 pence each at £1 per share. The C Share offer has now
closed.

It is anticipated that that C Shares allotted to date, pursuant to the offer for
subscription of 29 November 2004 will be admitted to trading 29 June 2005.
