The British Land Company PLC announces that it received notification on 27th
November 2006 of the following transaction by a director in the Company's
ordinary shares of 25p:


On 23rd November 2006, Sir John Ritblat gifted 72,000 shares beneficially owned
by him to himself and others in their capacity as trustees of the John Ritblat
Charitable Trust No 1. As a trustee he continues to have an interest in these
72,000 shares, but no longer has a beneficial interest.
