Authority, The British Land Company PLC announces that Mr Stephen Hester, who
took up his post as Chief Executive of the Company on 12th November 2004, does
not have any details that are required to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2.
(b) to (g) of The Listing Rules.

He was, until 12th November 2004, a Director of Abbey National PLC and Abbey
National Treasury Services PLC.

Stephen Hester also informed the Company on his appointment on 12th November
2004 that he currently holds 33,510 ordinary British Land shares of 25 pence
each.
