Notification is made in accordance with LR 9.6.14 that, on 26 October 2007,
British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Company") was advised that Ms Christine
Morin-Postel, a Non-Executive Director of the Company, had, on 25 October 2007,
ceased to be a Non-Executive Director of Alcan Inc. following the acquisition of
that company by Rio Tinto.
