Notification is made in accordance with LR 9.6.14 that, on 19 March 2007,
British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Company") was advised that Mr Jan du
Plessis, a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Company, had, on 16 March
2007, ceased to be Chairman and Non-Executive Director of RHM plc (subsequently
renamed RHM Limited) following the acquisition of that company by Premier Foods
PLC.
