British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Company") was advised that Mr Antonio
Monteiro de Castro, an Executive Director of the Company, had, on 12 December
2006, been appointed Non-executive director and Chairman of Clean Energy Brazil
plc, an AIM listed company registered in the Isle of Man.
