Appointment of Auditor

The Board of British & American Investment Trust PLC announces the appointment of RSM Robson Rhodes LLP as
auditors with immediate effect.

RSM Robson Rhodes currently audits 29 UK based investment trusts and a further 6 Guernsey based investment
companies.  It is ranked 11th in the UK accounting firm league tables and, as part of RSM International, at
6th in the world league tables.

Retiring auditors, Deloitte & Touche LLP, have confirmed that there are no outstanding matters which require
to be brought to the attention of members or creditors of the company.
