Directors' Notification of Dealing in Shares

BPT plc ('the Company')

The company was notified on 7 September that a Will Trust Settlement, of which
Mr P H Reddihough, a director of the Company, is a Trustee (and is deemed
non-beneficiary interested), has transferred to one of the beneficiaries, 
156,103 ordinary shares of 5p each and 71 10.1/2 per cent cumulative
preference shares of £1 each in the Company.

Following this transaction, Mr Reddihough is deemed to be beneficially
interested in 840,133 ordinary shares of 5p each (representing 0.57 percent of
the Company's issued ordinary share capital) and non-beneficially interested
in 915,728 ordinary shares of 5p each (representing 0.62 per cent of the
Company's issued ordinary share capital).
