Swallowfield plc announces that it was informed on the 4 May 2006 that the Union
Discount Company of London Ltd purchased 750,000 ordinary shares in the Company
on 3 May 2006, and is now interested in 1,139,000 ordinary shares in the
Company, representing approximately 10.2 per cent. of the Company's issued share
capital.

This announcement replaces the one made on 5 May 2006.
