Swallowfield plc ('Swallowfield') announces that it was informed on 16 October
2007 that Mr J. A. Wardell, a non-executive director of the Company sold 25,000
shares in the Company at a price of 84p on 12 October 2007.

Following the sale, Mr Wardell and his wife retain an interest in a total of
1,031,511 shares in Swallowfield, representing approximately 9.16% per cent. of
Swallowfield's issued share capital.
