Nicola Foulston resigns as Chief Exec and Chairman

Brands Hatch Leisure PLC 12 January 2000 Brands Hatch Leisure PLC ('BHL' or the 'Group') Brands Hatch Leisure PLC announces today that Nicola Foulston has resigned as Chief Executive of BHL PLC and as Chairman of the Brands Hatch Leisure Group. She has also today confirmed that she will not be taking up the position offered by the Octagon Group to become their Director of Motorsport. Nicola has led the Brands Hatch Leisure Group for ten years culminating in its acquisition last December by InterPublic's sports marketing division, Octagon. She confirmed to the Board of BHL that this decision had been taken for personal reasons associated with her desire to pursue a personal life. Nicola Foulston said today: 'It has been a privilege to work for BHL during its most exciting period of growth and development. Whilst I have been the Group's leader, I have received substantial support during those ten years from a brilliant management team together with all the staff which has underpinned the Group's success.' 'I felt that Octagon's acquisition of the Group meant the time had now come for me to pass the reins to a new leader with fresh experiences and new ideas to enable the Group to further expand in the years to come, allowing me to concentrate on my personal life.' Commenting on this announcement today, Rob Bain, recently appointed Chief Executive of the Brands Hatch Leisure Group, said: 'Nicky has made an invaluable contribution to the Group and wider Motor Sport. Whilst we understand her decision, we are disappointed to lose such a valuable member of the senior management team. Nicky has created a strong and committed management team, which will continue to drive the Group to new heights.' Rob Bain joined BHL PLC in March 1998 as the Group Finance Director and was appointed Chief Executive in December 1999. Nicola Foulston will depart the Group on 12 January 2000.
