New Agreement signed with EE re Google Play

Boku (AIM: BOKU), the world's leading independent direct carrier billing company, is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with EE to provide billing support  to consumer purchases from Google Play, the digital distribution service which serves as the official app store for Android. The service allows users to purchase and download applications, music, movies and TV shows, books and publications to their mobile device.

The agreement is to facilitate the migration of EE's Google Play billing traffic onto the Boku platform and went live at the end of November. The Boku platform now processes all Google Play purchases made through the EE network.  Boku was selected by EE through an open competitive Request For Proposal (RFP) process.

According to app development house, Fueled, the Google Play Store has begun to see increased rates of purchased apps and in-app payments, thanks to a streamlined buying process which Boku's technology will further improve.

Jon Prideaux, CEO of Boku, commented: "We are delighted to announce this extension to our new partnership with the UK's largest carrier. Being chosen by EE gives further validation that larger carriers appreciate the unique scale of our operations and how that scale is critical to delivering superior growth and cost efficiency.  By converting to Boku, EE joins other market leading mobile operators such as O2 in Germany, KPN in Netherlands, and MTS in Russia, all of whom are the largest carriers in their respective markets."

Incorporated in 2008, Boku is the leading independent direct carrier billing company in the world. Boku's technology enables mobile phone users, of which there are more than five billion worldwide, to buy goods and services and charge them to their mobile phone bill or pre-pay balance.

Boku's platform connects its customers, including Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Spotify and Sony, with billing, identity and sales systems of mobile network operators. The Group's technology makes a consumer's mobile phone number a convenient and secure payment method, providing an alternative to credit and debit cards.
