Bloomsbury Publishing PLC 15 January 2001 BLOOMSBURY PUBLISHING PLC (the 'Company' or 'Bloomsbury') Re Directorate The Company was notified today that Charles Black, a director of the Company and the chairman and joint managing director of A&C Black plc ('A&C Black') prior to its acquisition by the Company last year, has retired from the board of Bloomsbury with effect from 15 January 2001, although he shall remain a non-executive director of the A&C Black subsidiary board. Charles Black was appointed to the board of Bloomsbury following the acquisition of A&C Black in order to ensure the continuity of management and operating style of A&C Black and it had always been planned that he would retire from the board following A &C Black's successful integration with Bloomsbury. 15 January 2001
