On 8 February 2006 Bloomsbury Publishing Plc ('the Company') received from
Citigroup, acting on behalf of Standard Life Investments, notification pursuant
to Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended) that on 7 February 2006
Standard Life Investments acquired 242,291 ordinary shares in the Company on
behalf of Standard Life Group, and that this increased the total shares held as
a material interest (registered in the name of Vidacos Nominees) to 2,323,026
shares, being 3.188% of the issued share capital.
