Bloomsbury Publishing PLC 24 October 2002 BLOOMSBURY PUBLISHING PLC MAIN BOARD CHANGE London, 24 October 2002: Alan Wherry, a founding and executive director of Bloomsbury Publishing plc will resign from the Board on 29th November, 2002 on the occasion of his retirement following his 60th birthday. He has been responsible for the setting up and the current running of Bloomsbury USA. On retirement from Bloomsbury he will continue his connection with Bloomsbury USA as a consultant. His role as head of Bloomsbury USA will be taken over by Karen Rinaldi, Editorial Director of Bloomsbury in New York with effect from 2nd December. Karen Rinaldi has a wealth of publishing experience and joined Bloomsbury in 1999 as its first US based editor. She has already commissioned several bestsellers for the company, including Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential. She was also a Senior International Tax Consultant for Price Waterhouse for four years. Nigel Newton, Chief Executive of Bloomsbury, said, 'Alan has been an invaluable colleague right from the start of the company in 1986 and I shall greatly miss him both personally and professionally. I would like to thank him for his enormous contribution to the founding of Bloomsbury and also of Bloomsbury USA.
