Merrill Lynch World Mining Trust plc - New Director

On 16 June 2005 the Board of Merrill Lynch World Mining Trust plc announced the
appointment of Anthony Lea as a non-executive director of the Company with
effect from 29 July 2005.

Mr Lea is a director of Anglo American Finance (UK) PLC, Anglo American plc and
Anglo American Capital plc.

Mr Lea does not have any interest in the Company's shares at the date of this
appointment.
