We confirm that following the approval of shareholders at an Extraordinary
General Meeting held on 19 December 2000, the Registrar of Companies has now
issued a Certificate of Incorporation on Change of Name of the Company from
Mercury World Mining Trust plc to 'Merrill Lynch World Mining Trust plc'.
