The company announces that it has today repurchased 280,000 ordinary shares at
a price per share of 104p. The number of ordinary shares in issue following
cancellation of these shares will be 269,021,842.
The company has repurchased 34,778,000 ordinary shares since it originally
took power to purchase its own shares on 12 November 1999.
