3i Smaller Quoted Co's Trust PLC

On 8 May 2000, 3i Smaller Quoted Companies Trust plc purchased 200,000 of its
own Ordinary Shares of 25p each, at a purchase price of 225p per share, for
cancellation. Following the cancellation of these shares the Company's issued
share capital will amount to 57,718,523 Ordinary Shares of 25 pence each.
