On 25 January 2005 the Board of 3i Smaller Quoted Companies Trust plc announced
the appointment of Nicholas Fry and Gillian Nott as non-executive directors of
the Company.



Nicholas Fry is a director of Brixton plc, Erinaceous Group plc and Absolute
Return Trust Limited.



Gillian Nott is Chairman of Baronsmead VCT plc and a director of Barsonsmead VCT
2 plc, Baronsmead VCT 3 plc, Foreign and Colonial Pacific Trust PLC, Sitka
Health Fund VCT plc and Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust plc.  Mrs Nott
was previously a director of HW Group plc.



Mrs Nott did not have any interest in the Company's shares and Mr Fry held
12,500 ordinary shares in the Company at the date of their appointment.



There are no details in respect of Mr Fry or Mrs Nott that require disclosure
under paragraph 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
