MEC has agreed to use Forbidden's mobile video compression technology to enhance the content of MEC's sports, music, gaming and lifestyle channels. MEC plans to use Forbidden's video compression technology to develop full screen, high frame rate video clips for BREW-enabled handsets. Using the BREW Distribution System, QUALCOMM will make the video-based applications available to wireless service providers deploying the BREW-based services to wireless subscribers. Currently, KTF in Korea, KDDI in Japan and Verizon Wireless in the United States provide BREW-enabled products and services to their customers. More than one million end users around the world have purchased and activated BREW-enabled handsets since November 2001.
