FORscene used in Sky1 HD production

Princess Productions benefits from FORscene's new Watch Folder

Forbidden Technologies, the AIM quoted developer of the market leading Cloud video platform FORscene, announces that Princess Productions, part of Shine Group (the UK's largest independent production company), is using FORscene for the production of 'Must be the Music', which will be aired on Sky1 HD.  Princess Productions has also benefited from Watch Folder - a new addition to the FORscene Load user interface.

'Must be the Music' is searching for the UK's best new music act - any age, any song, any style. The show will be hosted by Fearne Cotton and judged by Dizzee Rascal, Jamie Cullum and Sharleen Spiteri.

The production team shot footage using Sony HDCAM and Panasonic P2. Rushes were digitised into Avid Unity storage, before the FORscene Server automatically compressed and uploaded material for logging and rough-cut editing. The watch folder technology used provides a scalable workflow management tool with minimal human interaction.

FORscene provides access to rushes from anywhere through a web-browser, enabling all members of the production team to monitor and work on content during location shooting. The post-production team also benefited from FORscene's account management tools to create and manage their accounts and media.

Paul Jones, Post Production Manager at Princess Productions, commented:

"FORscene provided fast access to material for remote viewing and approval whilst on location for 'Must Be The Music'. Its advanced search tools have given the production team the ability to streamline their off-line process and maximise the efficiency in post. With around 10,000 files already uploaded, the watch folder automation in FORscene Server has radically changed our workflow."

Pete Burns, Project Manager at Forbidden Technologies, said:

"We are pleased to be working with another new client, Princess Productions. FORscene's latest watch folder technology meets the demands of both high volume and fast turnaround workflows. The robust and flexible nature of this recent upgrade is proving attractive to a wide range of clients."
