Berkeley Berry Birch plc (the 'Company') was today notified that between 12 and
14 July 2003 Cliff Lockyer gifted 962,000 ordinary shares of 10p each (1.08 % of
the issued share capital in the Company) to Berkeley Independent Advisers
Limited Network Members. Following the disposal Clifford Lockyer holds
27,773,052 shares which equates to 31.31% of the total issued share capital.
