Appointment of Director

Berry Birch & Noble plc ('the Company') announces that Stephen Leonard
Ingledew was appointed on 7 November 2000 as an Executive Director of the
Company responsible for marketing with immediate effect. 

The Company would also like to announce that pursuant to the exercise of
options under the Company's 1987 share option scheme, it has allotted 5,000
Ordinary Shares of 10p each in the Company. The exercise price was 76p per
share.  These shares rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued
ordinary shares in the Company.   Application has been made to the UK Listing
Authority and the London Stock Exchange for the shares being issued to be
admitted to Listing and it is expected that dealings will commence on Thursday
16 November 2000.
