                         Voting Rights and Capital



In conformity with provision 5.6.1 of the FSA's Disclosure & Transparency, we
would like to notify the market  of the following:

Big Yellow's capital consists of 114,566,761 ordinary shares with voting rights.
615,000 ordinary shares previously held in Treasury have been transferred to an
Employee Benefit Trust.


The above figure (114,566,761) may therefore be used by shareholders as the
denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Big
Yellow Group PLC under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
