                            RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR

Big Yellow Group PLC ("Big Yellow" or "the Company"), the self storage company,
today announces that Stephen Homer has resigned from the Board. Stephen has been
an Executive Director of the Company since January 1999 with direct
responsibility for the Company's sales and marketing programme.

Since opening our first store in May 1999, Big Yellow has been successful in
developing into the leading self storage brand in its areas of operation.
Stephen has played a significant role in achieving this and has now decided to
leave the Group to pursue new challenges.

The Company does not intend to appoint another Sales and Marketing Director to
the Board but will instead be recruiting a Sales and Marketing Manager to carry
on the development of Big Yellow's brand as we continue our expansion in the UK.

Nicholas Vetch, Chairman, said: "We would like to thank Stephen for his
significant contribution to Big Yellow over the last 6 years. We wish him every
success for the future."
