Director shareholding

Big Yellow Group PLC ("Company") announces that Adrian Lee, an executive
director of the Company, has today exercised an option to acquire 100,000
Ordinary Shares at 13.3 pence per share.  This option was granted to him under
the Big Yellow Group PLC Unapproved Share Option Plan on 18th January 1999.  In
addition, Adrian Lee has sold today 100,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company at
100 pence per share.  Following these transactions, Adrian Lee's total holding
in the Company is unchanged at 791,880 Ordinary Shares in the Company.

The Company also announces that David Ross, a non executive director of the
Company, has today bought 100,000 ordinary shares at 100 pence per share.  This
results in a total beneficial holding by David Ross of 1,932,906 Ordinary Shares
in the Company.
