Big Yellow Acquires New Site

Big Yellow Group PLC ('The Group') today announces the
acquisition of a property in Luton, on which it is proposing
to open a new store.

The Group has acquired the freehold interest in a building
fronting the Dunstable Road (A505), Luton for £1,050,000 cash.
Following construction, the store will provide approximately
41,000 sq. ft. of storage.  The store will be prominently
located close to a significant concentration of out of town
retailing.

It is anticipated that the store will commence trading in the
early summer of 2001.
