                           BY DIRECTORS OF THE COMPANY

Benchmark Group PLC ('the Company') hereby gives notification of purchases of
CULS by Directors of the Company.

On 10 July 2003 Mr N J Kempner, Chief Executive of the Company and Mr K C Wong,
Managing Director (Finance) of the Company, each acquired 36,500 CULS at 95p 
each.

Following this notification, Mr N J Kempner is beneficially interested in 127,000
CULS in the Company representing 0.26% of the issued CULS of the Company and 
Mr K C Wong is beneficially interested in 81,312 CULS in the Company 
representing 0.16% of the issued CULS of the Company.
