The company was today informed that under the terms of the Bellway plc Savings
Related Share Option Scheme, the undernoted directors today acquired the
following ordinary 12.5p shares in Bellway plc at a consideration of 2.8920p
per share being the applicable option price:


John Knowlton Watson                            3,371
Peter John Stoker                               3,371


Following the above transactions the beneficial shareholdings of Mr Watson and
Mr Stoker in the ordinary share capital of the company are as follows:
