In 2013 the Belimo Group was once again able to grow its sales and strengthen its leading market position in the field of actuator solutions for controlling heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The steady growth in sales was based on numerous product innovations in the energy efficiency sector and on a rising demand in fire protection. In line with the economic environment, regional performance varied. Europe and Asia posted good results, whereas the Americas came in slightly short of expectations.
In Swiss francs as well as in local currencies, net sales rose by 6.4 percent to CHF 472.9 million. For Europe the currency-adjusted growth was 7.3, for the Americas 2.9 and for Asia/Pacific 14.3 percent. The air and water applications grew on a currency-adjusted basis by 6.6 and 6.0 percent, respectively.
Based on the preliminary figures, Belimo Group expects operating income (EBIT) of about CHF 81 million (first half 2013 CHF 42.2 million, previous year CHF 75.5* million) and net income of around CHF 62 million (first half 2013 CHF 33.5 million, previous year CHF 60.6* million).
