NOTICE OF HOLDING

The Company has been informed on 10th October, in accordance with sections
198-203 of the Companies Act 1985, that on 3rd October the shareholding of
Goldman Sachs Incorporated ('GS Inc') had decreased due to the interest held by
two of their wholly owned subsidiaries.  GS Inc was, therefore, interested by
attribution only, in 2,816,600 ordinary shares of 5 pence, representing 3.9% of
the total shares in issue which is 72,209,376

The shares are held as under

1,950,000 (previously 1,975,000) ordinary shares from an interest held by
Goldman Sachs & Co, a wholly owned direct subsidiary of GS Inc. acting as
custodian for its customers.  These shares are registered in the name of Goldman
Sachs Securities (Nominees) Limited.

866,600 (previously 910,600) ordinary shares from a beneficial interest held by
Goldman Sachs International, a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc.
