By a notice dated 5th November, 2001 (received on 7th November, 2001) Barratt
Developments PLC ('the Company') was notified that Barclays PLC, through its
subsidiary Barclays Bank PLC, has a MATERIAL INTEREST in 10,771,493 Ordinary
Shares of the Company representing 4.58% of the Issued Share Capital of the
Company, an increase of 1,271,954 shares (0.54% of the Issued Share Capital of
the Company) since the last notification dated 9th May, 2001 (received on 11th
May, 2001), and that their TOTAL interest in the Issued Share Capital of the
Company including their NON-MATERIAL holding of 12,764,530 shares is
23,536,023 shares representing 10.01% of the Issued Share Capital of the
Company.
