MAIN BOARD APPOINTMENTS


Barratt Developments PLC is pleased to announce that Harold Walker, executive
director and Chairman of the Group's Central Region, is to be appointed Deputy
Chief Executive.  Clive Fenton, formerly managing director of the West London
Division, is also to be appointed executive director and will join the Board as
Southern Regional Chairman.  Both appointments will take effect from 1st July,
2003.
