The Company was notified today by the trustees of the Barratt Developments
Employee Benefit Trust that they had purchased a total of 700,000 Ordinary 10p
Shares representing 0.292% of the Company's issued share capital.

The purchases were made as follows:-

The Executive Directors of the company are potential beneficiaries under the
