The Board of Baronsmead VCT 2 plc announces that on 18 February 2002 the Company
purchased for cancellation 30,000 ordinary shares of 10p at a price of 92.00p.

Following this purchase there are now 40,971,186 ordinary shares of 10p in
issue.
